STATEMENT
Drawing on a personal sense of landscape, I use geometric systems to reorganize space into distinct, inner topographies. In my paintings and sculptures, individual shapes act as visual conduits between observed nature and pure abstraction, functioning together as an interconnected, unified system. A primary focus is on the mechanics of these arrangements, specifically how forms occupy space, maintain a physical dialogue, and use color to create both quiet harmony and visual friction.
BIOGRAPHY
Danny Joe Rose III has held solo exhibitions at galleries including Jen Mauldin Gallery (Dallas, TX), Lone Gallery (Dallas, TX), Mainsite Contemporary (Norman, OK), Magic Sad Gallery (Norman, OK), Artspace at Untitled (Oklahoma City, OK), and Galleri Urbane (Dallas, TX). His work has also been featured in group exhibitions at institutions and galleries such as the Art Museum of South Texas (Corpus Christi, TX), Beeville Art Museum (Beeville, TX), Divisible Projects (Dayton, OH), The James Black Gallery (Vancouver, BC), Oklahoma Conemporary Arts Center (Oklahoma City, OK) and the University Art Museum at New Mexico State University (Las Cruces, NM).
Rose has completed artist residencies with the Guapamacátaro Center for Art and Ecology (Michoacán, Mexico), Artspace at Untitled, The Moon Mansion Dallas, and Oklahoma City University. He has taught studio art and design courses at New Mexico State University, Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center, and Chandra Kumala International School (Medan, Indonesia).
Rose holds a BFA from The Art Institute of Dallas and is currently an MFA candidate in Studio Art at New Mexico State University.
